Lu Boshe Must Die
Story Characters
Cao Cao, and Chen Gong
Cao Cao tried to assasinate Dong Zhuo but failed. He escaped capital
city Luo Yang and headed back to his hometown, but unfortunately he was
caught by Chen Gong on the way. After hearing Cao Cao's wish to
overthrow the tyrant Dong Zhuo, Chen Gong gladly gave up his job and
followed Cao Cao to his hometown. On the way they passed by Cao's
family friend Lu Boshe's house, where they were treated kindly. While
Lu Boshe was out buying wine, Cao Cao and Chen Gong overheard people in
the kitchen saying,
"How about tying up first then..."
Cao Cao thought they were in danger, so he and Chen Gong rushed into
the kitchen and killed all 8 members of the Lu family, only to find out
that there was a pig tied up.
"We mistakenly killed them!" cried Chen Gong.
"How are we two going to be able to finish this pig? It appeared to me
that this is for their celebration after turning us in for a prize. We
must get going now." Cao Can defended his action.
Chen Gong was still uncertain, but still followed Cao Cao knowing it
was too late already. Just outside of the house, they ran into the
returning Lu Boshe, who then was cut down by Cao Cao immediately. Chen
Gong was shocked by Cao Cao's cold heart and left him. Cao Cao wanted
to explain but Chen Gong already went far. Suddenly Cao Cao heard to
noises of a group of soldiers coming from Lu Boshe's returning
direction. Cao Cao ran away and thought he was correct, but also felt
bad about his loss of Chen Gong.
Zhang Fei Fights Cao Cao...Silently
Story Characters
Zhang Fei, Cao Cao, Liu Bei, and Zhuge Liang
One day, Liu Bei received a dinner invitation from Cao Cao. Zhuge Liang
wasn't about to let Liu Bei go, and vice versa, both knowing there will
be dangers. Guan Yu wasn't there at the moment, so the only choice
would have to be Zhang Fei. Zhang Fei arrived at Cao Cao's army camp
and told him,
"My brother doesn't feel well today, so here I am to represent him."
Cao Cao saw it was Zhang Fei who came, and he thought it would not be a
good idea to have a game of strength against him. So then during the
dinner, Cao Cao said,
"General Zhang, let us play a game called 'mute riddle,' the loser has
to drink three bowls of wine, and move his army back thirty Li
(approximately ten miles)."
Zhang Fei heard this and thought he was in trouble because he doesn't
even know what a "mute riddle" is. He didn't want to look bad so he
accepted the challege anyway. First, Cao Cao used his both arms to make
a circle. Zhang Fei thought for a while, then stretched his arms
straight on both sides to make a long line. Then Cao Cao showed him
three fingers, and Zhang Fei immediately gave him five. Lastly, Cao Cao
gave him a thumb up, but Zhang Fei kept shaking his head. Cao Cao
sighed and drank three bowls of wine, and told Zhang Fei,
"I will move my army right away."
After Zhang Fei left, all of Cao's officers and generals asked their master what was going on. Cao Cao said,
"I made a big circle meaning I will take over the whole China, but his
Cobra Spear won't allow it to happen; then my three fingers meant I
will attack Liu Bei from three different paths, but there are Five
Tigers who will defend their lands; at last I tried to tell him that I
am the best army leader, but he didn't think so. I never expected such
a barbarian would be able to play the game this well."
Now Zhang Fei already came back to Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang, who were
surprised by the defeat of Cao Cao. They asked Zhang Fei how he was
able to win. Zhang Fei answered,
"He and I played this game called 'mute riddle.' He wanted me to eat a
big round pie, but I wanted noodles instead; then he only wanted to
give me three bowls of noodles, so I asked for five; lastly he thought
that my ability to eat is number one in the world, but I really hate
taking compliments so I kept shaking my head. That game was easier than
I thought."
Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang complimented Zhang Fei, but the two thought it probably wasn't what Cao Cao really meant.
In the Moonlight, Guan Yu Ends Diao Chan's Life
Story Characters
Guan Yu, Diao Chan, Liu Bei, and Zhang Fei
After Cao Cao executed Lu Bu, he gave the beautiful Diao Chan to Liu
Bei, hoping something similar to Lu Bu's murder of Dong Zhuo will again
happen between the sworn brothers. Liu Bei, of course, was caught by
Diao Chan's beauty, so was Zhang Fei. Guan Yu saw this, said,
"I didn't know that Zhang Fei loves beautiful women too."
Zhang Fei answered,
"No, our big brother and the beauty would make a good couple."
Liu Bei was happy, but didn't want to admit it right away, and so he told Zhang Fei,
"Your second brother is not married yet, Diao Chan would be perfect."
Guan Yu anxiously replied,
"No, no, that's not a good idea."
Then Liu Bei turned to Zhang Fei, but Zhang Fei didn't want admit it
either. Just like that, the three brothers kept convicing each other to
take Diao Chan. Guan Yu was not the kind of person who would be caught
by women's beauty easily. He understood his two brothers really wanted
Diao Chan. He was thinking about Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu, both lost their
lives and accomplishments because of Diao Chan. Now if Liu Bei and
Zhang Fei fall for her, they will be on the path that Dong Zhuo and Lu
Bu went through. Therefore Guan Yu decided to have Diao Chan gone. That
night, Guan Yu held his Cresent Glaive and had a servant to call out
Diao Chan. Diao Chan stood under the moonlight and smiled, which made
even Guan Yu's heart softened. Guan Yu had to calm himself and think,
this is the reason that she has to be killed. Then he walked toward
Diao Chan with his glaive held tall. Diao Chao was scared to death and
started to sob, like a flower in the rain. Guan Yu didn't have guts to
look at her any longer, so he closed his eyes and let his glaive
dropped...
Liu Bei Borrows Jing State, and Never Returns It
Story Characters
Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang, Lu Su, Sun Quan, and Zhou Yu
After the Battle of Red Wall, Zhou Yu also conquered Jing State. Liu
Bei, who was at Gong An, wanted Jing Zhou but doesn't have any plan.
Zhuge Liang advised him to "borrow" it, and if a Wu messenger was to
come visiting, he wanted Liu Bei to cry. Sure enough, Lu Su came to
visit, and Liu Bei's crying made him not knowing what to do. Zhuge
Liang then explained,
"We want to attack Shu's Liu Zhang, but Jing State is in our way, therefore my master is troubled."
Lu Su was a kind person, and he felt bad for Liu Bei, so he asked,
"What are you going to do?"
Zhuge Liang answered,
"We would like to borrow Jing State, and when we conquered Shu we will indeed return it."
When Lu Su asked how long will they borrow, Zhuge Liang replied,
"From this winter to next winter."
and so Zhuge Liang wrote a borrowing statement, had Liu Bei signed it,
then gave it to Lu Su. Lu Su went back to Sun Quan and convinced him,
then he went to Jing Zhou to have Zhou Yu moved out. Zhou Yu refused
and said,
It took us a lot of troubles to conquer this state, and now you're telling me to give it like a present?"
Lu Su explained that it was just to let Liu Bei borrow for a year. He
went on to say that he had a signed statement, and even Master Sun Quan
already agreed. Zhou Yu couldn't fight it anymore so he moved the army
out of Jing Zhou. Back at Lu Kou, Zhou Yu suddenly thought that this
might be one of those Zhuge tricks, and he asked Lu Su for the
statement. He read it and jumped out of his chair, yelling,
"You were tricked by Zhuge! The statement doesn't have any dates!"
Lu Su said,
"Doesn't it say they borrow it from this winter to next winter?"
Zhou Yu almost fainted, said,
"Do you know which winter they will start borrowing and which winter they will return?"
Just like that, Liu Bei borrowed Jing State, and never wanted to return
it again. Until now, people still describe a person who borrows but
never returns, "Liu Bei borrows Jing State, and never returns it."

Saving His Grandson with His Last Will
It is said that when Zhuge Liang feel ill at Wu Zhang Yuan, he knew he
will be died very soon, therefore he put all the country's matter in
order, yet he also ordered Jiang Wei to do something for a personal
matter. He foresaw that Shu will be perished after his death, and his
grandson will face a major trouble under the emperor of the Jin
dynasty. So he give Jiang Wei a letter, tell him that after his
funeral, urge his son to leave Cheng Du and put this letter in the wall
of the new home. At the same time, tell his descendants, if their life
is threatened, they can avoid it by take apart the home. However, no
one shall do anything to the new home during regular times.
After his death, Sima Yan united the Three Kingdoms and build the Jin
dynasty. This time Kongming's grandson, Zhuge Yi, has grown up. Zhuge
Yi knows how to fight very well and is very nice to the people. He
stole jewelries from the palace to help the poor, and become the hero
at that time. Unfortunantly, one day he is caught in the palace and
emperor ordered to excute him. Some officials at the court feel
sympathy for Zhuge Yi and plead with the emperor: since Zhuge liang is
such a great man, it is disobey the heaven to stop him from passing
down his family. When the emperor heard that Zhuge Yi is Kongming's
grandson, he thought: my grandfather (Sima Yi) admired Zhuge Liang so
much even though himself is very able as well. He have told me that
Zhuge Liang can foresee the future. He should knew that his grandson is
going to get killed. With curiousity, he ordered to bring Zhuge Yi
back, and asked him:
"You grandfather Prime Minister Zhuge Liang is known for his ability to
foresee the future, do you know if he somehow knew what is happening
today?"
Zhuge Yi replied, "My grandfather leave a will that said if we face the
problem of death, we can resolve it by taking apart our house, I don't
know anymore."
Not believing fully in what Zhuge Yi said, the emperor ordered to take
apart Zhuge Yi's house. The crew found a small bag in the wall which is
sealed tightly. They opened it up and saw a letter withe the words
"Opened before the emperor". Nobody dared to open it so they send it to
the palace. The emperor took the letter and opened it. The first page
said "You Majesty please retreat three steps". When the emperor saw
those words, he did it quickly. Just then, a piece of wood fell from
the ceiling and crashed the emperor's seat. Everyone is scared. The
emperor opened the second page instantly, it said "I saved your
majesty's life, your majesty pardon my grandson." The emperor ordered
to release Zhuge Yi immediately out of fear.

Ok, essentially, this is the same story as Liu Bei marrying Sun Shangxiang, except with the ending edited a bit...
Recall when Liu Bei left for Wu, Zhuge Liang gave him 3 silk bags, and
told him to when to open each one; in particular, when you're
desparate, open the third bag. So Liu Bei goes off to Wu, and married
Sun Quan's sister, and yadiyadiya... and sneaked out of Nanxu (Wu
captial) without notifying Sun Quan on Spring Festival, 209. When Sun
Quan woke up the next morning, he immediately send Chen Wu and Pan
Zhang to chase after Liu Bei. Zhou Yu also send Xu Sheng and Ding Feng
from Lukou to stop Liu Bei escaping back to Jing. In Liu Bei's crew,
there are Liu Bei, Sun Shangxiang and Zhao Yun, all three were supposed
to be good fighters (I know they forgot about Sun Qian... but it's only
an opera) and thus they fought their way out against the four Wu
generals (there was a special scene about Sun Shangxiang dueling all
four Wu generals too!). Then Jiang Qin and Zhou Tai caught up from the
behind, another rumble and Liu Bei, Zhao Yun and Sun Shangxiang fought
them off as well. Finally, Zhou Yu led an army himself, and blockaded
Liu Bei from the front, the 6 Wu generals surrounded from the back. Liu
Bei was captured.
He was taken to Zhou Yu's camp, but Zhou Yu, being a theoretical ally
of Liu Bei, servant of Sun Shangxiang, cannot put Liu Bei's crew into
prison. Rather, he settled them into a nearby temple(? is temple the
correct translation for ËÂ?) and "protected" them with his troops. He
told his guards, without "proof of my authority" (Áî¼ý - again,
apologies for inaccurate translation), noone may let anyone of Liu
Bei's crew out. Meanwhile, Zhou Yu send a messenger to Sun Quan
consulting for further orders on what to do with Liu Bei.
Liu Bei thought his doom was near, grieved over and over, hugged and
cried his nose out with Sun Shangxiang... until Zhao Yun entered the
stage and brought the "proof of Zhou Yu's authority" to Liu Bei, and
said, "Master, let's get the hell outta here!" Liu Bei and Sun
Shangxiang suddenly all smiled and showed Zhou Yu's authority to the
guards and sailed for their way home. When they're out of danger, Liu
Bei asked Zhao Yun, "where did you get this?" Zhao Yun said, "I
remember Advisor Zhuge told us to open his third silk bag when we're
desparate, and thus I did, and saw Zhou Yu's proof of authority to be
there!" Liu Bei cherished and exclaimed, "wow, we needn't to worry
about it after all... everything was under control!"...
Meanwhile, Zhou Yu's messenger returned with Sun Quan's orders: "behead
Liu Bei immediately and invade Jing with everything you've got!" Thus,
Zhou Yu walked happily to the temple where Liu Bei was imprisoned,
happily thinking, "ha! This time, Liu Bei will be mine!"... but when he
arrived there, he didn't see a shadow of Liu Bei! He called the guards
over, and exploded, "Where on earth is Liu Bei?!!" guard said, "Liu Bei
left by your orders sir." Zhou Yu, "My orders?!!! Show me!!!" The guard
showed Zhou Yu his own "proof of authority"... Zhou Yu cried, and
puzzled in total mysteriousness, "Where the hell did Liu Bei get
that?!!! Where?!!!!!" Then, the door opened, a messenger stepped in and
passed Zhou Yu a letter from Zhuge Liang. It said:
Dear General Zhou:
Since last time we met, it's been indeed a long time. You asked me to
borrow three days of south-easterly breeze at the Seven-Star Temple (an
event in Battle of Chibi), and presented me on behalf of your
authority. My master Liu Bei is coming to Wu to marry the sister of
your master and I've asked my master a favour to return your "proof of
authority" back to you as that day I had to get back to Jiangxia in
such a hurry - I never got a chance to return this myself. Please reply
so that I know it has safely arrived, as you may know, when this "proof
of authority" gets in hands of your enemy, it may cause great harm.

When Zhou Yu finished reading the letter, blood spew from his mouth,
and thus concluded the second (out of three) anger of Zhou Yu from
Zhuge Liang.

Killing Zhou Yu
People always say that Zhou Yu had been tricked to death by Zhuge
Liang. Actually, Luo Guan Zhong had mistaken. So when we read the book,
we are misleaded as well. In fact, Zhou Yu had only been sick, his
death is caused by his wife, Xiao Qiao.
Speaking of xiao Qiao, her beauty is no less than Diao Chan yet her
morals are worse. She never care about politics and the important
matters Zhou Yu have to deal with all day. After she is married to Zhou
Yu, she can eat whatever she want, dress in the best cloth, have
carriage whenever she went out, and bunch of servents. However, even
though her life is comfortable, Xiao Qiao is not happy. this is because
Zhou Yu have to be in charge of so many important matters each day,
that he barely have time for his wife. Even though he always bring Xiao
Qiao with him when he is on a campaign, but most of the time he just
leave she along in the tent while worrying about battles from morning
to night. Xiao Qiao could not stand the loneliness, so she usually went
to Zhou Yu's camp and drag him back.
One time, Zhou Yu and his generals are discussing a very important
matter, so he did not go back to his tent for three nights in a row.
Xiao Qiao went outside and played a very sexy song. Now Zhou Yu get
angry finally. He send Xiao Qiao back to Zheng Jiang with her sister,
Da Qiao, to live with Wu Guo Tai.
After returning to Zheng Jiang, Xiao Qiao could not bear the loneliness
anymore. So she get together with Zhou Yun, who is a servent of Zhou
Yu. Speaking of Zhou Yun, his grandfather, his father have served the
grandfather and father of zhou yu. Zhou Yun is about the same age as
Zhou Yu and is pretty handsome as well. Yet instead of possessing the
ability Zhou Yu had, his mind with filled with wacky stuff. Plus a
sharp eye that can tell what people want, he got the trust of Zhou Yu,
who send him back to Zheng Jiang along with Xiao Qiao to take care of
personal businesses. Now Zhou Yun is like in heaven. Everytime he saw
Xiao Qiao, he wants to have her. But with Zhou Yu there, there is just
no opportunity. Now it is just him and Xiao Qiao, to Zhou Yun, it is
like the perfect opportunity. Therefore, he went to Xiao Qiao's room
everyday and trying to make her agree, Xiao Qiao, who get lonely, is
thrilled with this opportunity. So everyday they get together.
After the battle of Chibi, Zhou Yu got tricked by Zhuge Liang and feel
ill. Sun Quan, worried about zhou yu's body, send Xiao Qiao to Chai
Sang to care for Zhou Yu. Zhou Yun, as Xiao Qiao's servent, came along
with her.
Ever since Xiao Qiao get together with Zhou Yun, she did not care much
about Zhou Yu anymore. When she arrived to Chai Sang, she have a
headache each time she saw her "husband". Since too many people came to
see zhou yu, Xiao Qiao could not get to Zhou Yun three days in a row.
On the fourth night, after Zhou Yu had gone into sleep, she went to
Zhou Yun's room and cried, "Honey Yun, I am going to go crazy if you
are not by my side. Who knows when Zhou Yu is going to die. If he did
not die in one year, that means I have to serve him for an entire year,
yet I could not each manage a day! What should I do?"
Zhou Yun replied, "Oh, my beauty, what do you want me to do?"
Xiao Qiao said, "He is about to die anyway, if we put some poison in his medicine, then he will go to heaven sooner."
zhou yun, blinking his eyes, and thought, "It can't be done. You
brother-in-law (meaning Sun Quan, whose brother married to Xiao Qiao's
sister) and Lu Su all care about Zhou Yu very much, and they come at
least three times a day to see him. Plus Zhou Yu is getting better. If
he suddenly died. They will be suspicious and if they researched his
death, there is no way we can get out of it.
Xiao Qiao shouted, "then you want me to stay with Zhou Yu and never come back?"
Zhou Yun covered up her mouth, "shhhh..Don't be too loud or you might
get heard." "Of course I want you" seeing the angry look on Xiao Qiao's
face, he quickly added, "I have a plan that can kill two bird with one
stone, listen closely.." Zhou Yun told her the entire plan, which Xiao
Qiao agreed happily.
Continueing from the story:
The next day, after Xiao Qiao served Zhou Yu his medicine, obeying Zhou
Yun's order, she said to Zhou Yu affectionaly, "My dear husband. Sawing
you sick, I can't eat during mealtime and can't go into sleep at night.
I wish to transfer your sickness onto mine and let me suffer instead.
In order to make you recover early, I think hard day and night and
finally came up with a scheme and maybe can get rid of your disease."
Knowing ther is way to recover, Zhou Yu sit up immediatly and grabbed
Xiao Qiao's hand, "My lady, I thank you for your deep love. You really
came up with a scheme, tell me about it."
Xiao Qiao hesitated on purpose, shaking her head, she said, "This scheme...you have to..."
"My lady!", Zhou Yu replied, "If it can really cure my disease. I am willing to do anything, will tell me about the scheme."
"If you can suffer a little bit, then I will say it," looking at zhou
yu, xiao qiao said with solemnity, "The reason you fell ill is because
of that crafty Zhuge Liang. Why don't my husband pretend to be died,
and put up a mourning place inside the army. Then we can send this
information to Zhuge Liang. If he knew you are died, he will definitely
come andd mourn you. We can ambush some swordsman inside the around,
when Zhuge Liang came here. With just one little signal, he will be
died even if he had ten lives. With Kongming killed, you will feel
happy and cured your illness."
"hmmm..." Zhou Yu pondered, "It is such an important matter, I need to discuss it with my lord and Lu Su."
When Sun Quan and Lu Su came, zhou Yu told them the scheme Xiao Qiao
came up with. Sun Quan had no objection. Lu Su, because he is the
friend of Kongming's older brother, Zhuge Jin, did not want to kill
him. Therefore he said, "If we put an empty coffin, Zhuge Liang would
know the truth by looking at the stars. If Gong Jin really sleep in it,
he will be running out of air to breathe."
Xiao Qiao replied, "This you don't have to worry, we can put some holes on the top of the coffin for my husband to breathe.
Seeing Lu Su still want to argue, she added angrily, "Sir, you don't
want my husband to recovery, is it because you want him to die so you
can take his position as the commander-in-cheif?"
"What..." honest Lu Su got red by xiao Qiao's inquires, and stoped saying anything.
Sun Quan, saw Lu Su's embrassment, said quickly, "Sister, Zi Jing meant no harm, you don't have to get mad."
"How about this," Xiao Qiao said, "Since my lord and Mr. Lu are afraid
to offend Kongming, then you both leave. I will stay here and perform
this scheme by myself. If Liu Bei attack Wu for this, you can just hand
me over and push all the blame on me, who let me be the wife of Zhou
Yu?"
With her harsh words, Sun Quan and Lu Su have no choice but to accept.
After they left, Xiao qiao ordered to put together a mourning place and
ambushed about two hundred swordsman. Just when darkness had come, Xiao
Qiao said to Zhou Yu, "My dear husband, I am sorry but you have to
sleep in the coffin today. If not, Zhuge Liang will knew the truth by
looking at the stars, then we wasted all our time and efforts for
nothing."
Having no choice, Zhou Yu get inside the coffin. After Xiao Qiao put
the top in place, she ordered to nail the four corners. Zhou Yu,
sensing this, said inside the coffin, "My lady, why did you nail the
coffin?"
"I have no choice but to," Xiao Qiao replied, "Kongming is a very
crafty people, what if he saw throught our scheme?" Listening this,
even though Zhou Yu is not happy, he have to say Xiao Qiao have her
reasons.
Meanwhile, Zhuge Liang knew about Zhou Yu's death, yet he refuse to
believe it. However, when he is viewing the stars at night, he
discovered Zhou Yu's star at the east disappeared, then he finally
acknowlege that Zhou Yu is really dead. Therefore, he prepared the
gifts and bring zhao Yun with him to mourn Zhou Yu early next morning.
When he entered the mourning place, he lay down the gift and cried on
top of Zhou Yu's coffin.
Xiao Qiao, on the other hand, is still in Zhou Yun's room and did not
get up yet. Last night, after she prepared for everything, they dressed
up like a bride and went to Zhou Yun's room. When she knew Zhuge Liang
is here already from her servant, she sweated with surprised. The more
Xiao Qiao is scared, the more she is unorganized. Without even washing
away her make-up and took off the red dress, she put on the mourning
cloth and run to the camp.
When she set her foot inside the door, she had seen Zhuge Liang is
crying on the coffin, so she run to the coffin and "cried" with
Kongming.
Kongming's mourning is out of his heart. Even though Zhou Yu want to
kill him several time, he is still admired by Zhou Yu's talent and
abilities, think about after the ally of Sun and Liu, Cao Cao never
dare to attack them easily, plus the fact that he have some
responsibility of his death. Zhuge Liang cried harder.
Xiao Qiao's cry is like a rat crying a cat-sad in face yet smiling in
heart. While she pretend to be sad, she took out the wax that she
prepared before and use it cover up the breathing hole on the coffin.
Zhuge Liang, getting so tried from crying, raised his head and want to
rest a second. But instead, he saw Xiao Qiao is put wax on the coffin,
and thought, "something is fishy". He look at Xiao Qiao more closely,
and saw her face is covered with make-up and she did not have any tear
at all, or all the make-up will be washed away. Then he look down and
get more clear, when Xiao Qiao heard Zhuge Liang is coming, she forget
to put on mourning shoes, the shoes she is wearing is red with lots of
flower.
Zhou Yu, lying inside the coffin, feel his chest is stuffed up since
the breathing hole is covered with wax. Therefore, he is moving around.
Zhuge liang, who is resting against the coffin, feel there is movement
inside, now he finally understand, "Zhou Yu did not die, it is Xiao
Qiao who just killed him!"
Kongming thought, "why would Xiao Qiao kill her own husband, that is
none of my business, but why would she trick me here, it is obvious
that she want to put the responsibility on me. If I don't think of
something, probably I won't walk out this camp alive!"
Xiao Qiao feel the coffin stopped moving after a while, she knew Zhou
Yu is dead. So she want to leave and give the order to kill Zhuge Liang.
However, when Xiao Qiao raised her feet, she could not move at all. It
is because Zhuge Liang steped on her belts. Xiao Qiao is about to get
upset and yell, yet stopped instantly when Kongming begin to spoke,
"Madam Qiao, you killed your husband with your own hand and want to
push the blame on me, how evil are you! I don't care why don't want
Gong Jin died, i could keep your secret, I could even took the blame on
gong jin's death. Under one circumstances, you have to wait until I

| Learn Martial Art at Zhong Shan - "Lu Bu"
When Lu Bu is young, he has really strong muscles and is very brave. He
likes swords, cobras, blades, and especially spears. His dad is really
happy and sent his to Zhong Shan "Mountaini Zhong" to learn more under
a Taoist named Shi Kong when Lu Bu is fifteen.
Shi Kong is really good on martial arts. He is ninety already but can
still play around with swords easily. Especailly the Lunar Spear,
everybody have to give him a thumb-up for it. When Lu Bu went to him,
he is happy to have a discpline who is very brave. So Shi Kong taught
Lu Bu everything he knew. Then around a year had passed.
One day, Shi Kong is teaching Lu Bu how to use the Lunar Spear, it
contain 72 moves, and Shi Kong already taught him 36. He stopped
suddenly and started to worry. He know the 72 moves of the Lunar Spear
is divided up into two. The first 36 moves is great, but it is made up
by the people. The last 36 moves is made up by a god which common
people couldn't even think of.
The next day, he called Lu Bu, "you need to do something for me, when
you come back, then I will finish teach you the moves of Lunar Spear,
you want to go?"
Lu Bu replied, "Of course"
Shi Kong said, "It is not hard to do. There is a cave in the Southern
Peak in this mountain, and inside the cave, there is one precious jewel
called the rock of Zhong. This rock is perfectly round and flowers are
carved on it. I need that rock so you come and get it for me.
When you go to the cave, you need to pass a river, climb that mountain
and then you can enter the cave. There is a narrow bridge on the river,
a narrow pass behind the mountain, and a stony window at one entrance
of the cave. You need to walk on the narrow bridge, climb the mountain
on the narrow passage, and enter the cave through the stony window. You
can leave now."
Lu Bu hurried down the mountain and went straight to Southern Peak.
When he reach the bottom of South Peak, he saw the river. It is not
wide, but the water is pretty deep and fast. About the narrow bridge,
it is narrow definitely. In it only a piece of wood connect the two
side of the river. Lu Bu is worried if the wood is strong enough for
him for walk on it. Just then, a hunter around fifty came up to him and
said, "Hey, you want to cross the river, but you can't take this
bridge, do you want to stay alive or no?"
Lu Bu is more worried now, he replied, "Thanks, but you don't know. My
master told me to cross the river on this bridge, I can's disobey his
orders."
The hunter said, "So, your master is not here, so he won't know if you
cross it or not. You life is more important than some order. Listen,
there is a stone bridge not far from here, I alway use that when I
hunt. Get across from there and get back, it is the same thing."
After Lu Bu heard it, he thought "yeah, the hunter does have a point, and no way master will know it."
So Lu Bu cross the river on the stony bridge and keep on going. When he
reach the back of the peak, he saw the narrow pass. God, it is narrow.
So steep and with grass and trees all over it. Lu Bu become afraid
again. Suddenly, a farmer come up and said, "yo, want to go to the top?
Are you crazy for taking this road? It is not only steep and hard to
walk on, there are also poisoneous snakes, if you get bite, no one can
save your life. Even I, who went on the peak on the time, dare not take
this road."
The farmer kept on and stopped Lu Bu from saying anything, "Forget it,
take the road on the east side of the peak, it is wide and very little
steep. I alway use that road. After all, you just want to get on top of
the peak, so it does not make the difference."
Lu Bu is so happy, he thought, "how come I meet so many good people
today? Or else I will die here." he thanked the farmer and went to the
east side.
Sure, the road is easy to take and in no time, Lu Bu get on the peak.
He finally saw the cave. But he also saw the stony window. While he is
staring at the window, someone beside him spoke, "Hey, want to go
inside the cave?"
Lu Bu turned around and saw a beggar around 70 years old. Who saw Lu Bu
nodded and kept on, "I knew it. Why are you starring at the window?
There is a tiger who lived inside the window. Just the day before I saw
it. Here, go to the other entrance."
Lu Bu heard this is a tiger, he sweats badly and entered through the
other entrance. Using a torch, he saw a round rock is place on top of a
big stone. He is so happy and get the rock and left quickly.
When Lu Bu get back to his master and give him the rock, Shi Kong said, "did you really obey all my order?"
Lu Bu shaked a bit, he thought about telling the truth. But then he
thought, "No, if I tell the truth, master will get angry and he will
not teach me anymore. He won't know it anyway so I will lie." So he
said, "Yes, I did follow every instruction you give me."
Shi Kong asked, "Really"
Lu replied, "Of course."
"Okay", said Shi Kong, "You have learned everything and you can't leave now."
Lu Bu is really surprised, he begged his master to let him stay, but Shi Kong had his mind make up. So Lu Bu left.
After seeing him left, Shi Kong went back to him cottage and the
hunter, the farmer, and the beggar is waiting there. Shi Kong signed,
"I never really want this rock, it is just to test if he is honest or
not. Lucky I tested him before I teach him all the moves of Lunar
Spear, or he will definitely cause a turmoil among the people. I regret
I teach him the 36 moves already."
Just like Shi Kong predicted, Lu Bu killed two of his adopted father and until he is killed, he had never done anything good. | | |
